About myself
This is not a resume, these are just some personal information that may help to understand my weird assumptions all over the page there surely are... I am a student of Computer Science at RWTH Aachen in Germany. I started in Winter 2001 and yet have "some" time left :-). Some stuff that I published for my studies may be found here. Before that I did social service at Schloss Bellinghoven. Information about this institution can be found here. This year was a really interesting time and I hope I can state that I finally learned some basic manual skills, besides social competence. I guess a year of social service would be a good thing for most people out there... I finished German Highschool (Gymnasium) with an Abitur degree in Summer 2000. Abitur time was the time when I started to publish my first software packages (Webmin modules by then). They were written in Perl. Since then I aquired deeper knowledge and skills in lots of other langages, including C/C++, Java, PHP, bash, Makefile scripting etc. Everything a geek needs to be happy :-) Those first projects helped me to get in contact with lots of interesting people. Most impressive and with widest impact was the contact with Stephen Nodvin. He worked on a global VoIP network and wanted me to develop a monitoring solution. So he invited me to the USA. So after Abitur I went to the USA for almost three months and found some very good friends over there (Thanks Stephen, Sabette, Leah and Madelaine!). I hope I soon have the opportunity to travel to the USA again (although some weird brains participate in their administration). Anything before that is surely not interesting for you... If anyone wants to send birthday mails: Fire your cron job on 22.08. (was born in 1980, fire you calculator now ;-). You really want to see a foto!? OK, try this one or this one. Tim |
